1. If you had the chance to meet someone you've never met, from the past or present, who would it be? Oh goodness. So many people. If, however I had to narrow it down to one... it would be one (or all) of my great-grandparents. I wonder what they prayed for and wished for in their descendents... I wonder how their prayers have been answered in my life in ways that I don't even know about. And besides that, they lived through a lot. I'm sure they would have stories to tell!
2. If you had to live in a different century, past or future, which would it be? Hmm. There are a lot of them that fascinate me. The first half on the 20th century (how weird to be writing that as a century past...), or maybe medieval England. I love the idea of knights and ladies. In theory, it's all very romantic. I know that's not always the reality, but still--big dresses and castles?
3. If you had to move anywhere else on Earth, where would it be? Maybe NYC? I love it there. But only if I could transplant some elements of my life. There are certain things I'd really miss if I left Calgary--my kids, my ministry, a few of my close friends... so if I could take them with me, that would just be the cat's meow (isn't that a great expression?).
4. If you had to be a fictional character, who would it be? Let's see. Throughout my life I've wanted to Laura Ingalls Wilder (although she's not really fictional), Anne Shirley, Pat of Silver Bush (I can't remember her last name), any one of the Baby-Sitters Club characters (and yes, I can name them all: Claudia, Mary Anne, Kristy, Stacey, Mallory, Dawn, and Jessi. And Logan and Abby. But I didn't want to be Logan.), Julie (from the book of the same name by Catherine Marshall), and I don't even know who else. Currently, though, I'd probably have to say that I'd love to be Meg, from the Time Quartet, by Madeleine L'Engle. Or perhaps Vicky Austin, again by Madeleine L'Engle. They both have the ability to love life and experience it to the fullest, in very different ways, while still being imperfect humans. And, as a side note, I find it interesting that I automatically thing of a character in a book when I hear "fictional character."
5. If you had to live with having someone else's face as your own for the rest of your life, whose would it be? Hmm. I generally like my face. Body, that's a different story. However, if I had to live with someone else's... it would be... Jennifer Garner's. I think she's got a beautiful face.
