Oy. What a day. How much I miss when I'm away from work for 5 days. And I was even in a couple of times, just to check in. I mean, just to get food. Right? That's what you do at a restaurant, isn't it?

But even so, I was in for quite the update today. Slightly overwhelming, but nice to be back in the loop.

It's funny how people are so blissfully ignorant of the major events in other people's lives. We all go on in our own little worlds, completely unaware of the things happening next door. And yet, once we know, they so often become earth-shattering for us, too. You know what I mean?

I just can't explain it well right now. I'm actually a lot more tired than I should be for this time of night, and I may need to just go to bed.

One year ago today: The only thing that's really upsetting is that my journal was in there. I just lost a year and a half's worth of thoughts and observations that sometimes (often) hit a level that's more private than I venture to post here. I write here more often, so at least I haven't lost everything I've written since about December 2002, but I've lost a fair bit of it. Well, I guess whoever found it has got an interesting soap opera to read.
