And Sesame Street has gone downhill from when I was a child. Especially with this new Canadian version they call "Sesame Park." Give me a break. That's not Sesame Street! What happened to Big Bird, Snuffie, Oscar the Grouch, Hooper's Store, Maria and Luis, Elmo, and everyone else? This one just has puppets, for the most part, and not even the original ones. Grover's on it, but that's about it. There's Basil, and Louis, and I don't know all the other ones, but it's not Sesame Street!
That was where I learned to count to 16 in French; I learned to say les pieds, un pomme, and other such important words... I don't remember what else I learned, but I know that my French beginnings were on Sesame Street.
But seriously, people, what kind of country are we creating, in which our preschoolers have no idea who Big Bird is? And they wonder what's wrong with society. What sort of appreciation will they have for the arts if they're not even exposed to a proper version of Sesame Street at a young age?! What are we doing to ourselves? We're self-destructing!! There will be no culture left to perpetuate if we don't get a real Sesame Street back on television!!
Okay, I'm finished my Pez now, so I think I'm finished with that rant for today. ;o)
