... Magic in the night
*sigh* It's one of those magical nights. This is the first Christmas snow... I mean, it's skiffed a few times, but tonight was magical. Absolute magic. I walked home from the play, and there was about a centimeter of snow on the ground; most of it not walked in yet, so my footprints were the first things to mar the perfection. Everything was so still, and peaceful. The snow was still falling softly and gently, and in the streetlights, it was amazingly beautiful. It reminded me of a line from a song: "Snowflakes softly falling against the fading light, children singing carols somewhere in the night, someone's wrapping presents, someone's saying prayers, someone who is far away is wishing you were there..." It was a Christmas snow. It wasn't a "it's still too early, it's still fall, we should be enjoying watching the leaves fall off the trees" sort of snow. It was a "we've been waiting for this for so long that we can now truly appreciate it, and it's Christmas" kind of snow. You know what I mean? Magic. Simply magical.
