It was a fairly small wedding--about a hundred people--and it was outside, which was beautiful. It was raining in the morning, then it stopped long enough for the ceremony, then during the reception (which was inside), it started to rain again. Perfect timing!
Her dress was very simple and "Shannon-ish"... very not a girly-girl, poofy, princessy dress. It was floor-length, no train, and had a layer of kind of sheer fabric with silver threads woven through it, over top of the dress. It was an empire waist, with a sparkly row of something right under the bust, and the top layer of the dress opened up at the waist and flowed out (kind of a medieval-ish look). The sleeves went to her elbow, and then opened up and flowed down from there... it's hard to describe, but she was radiant. Yes, I know that's a stereotype, but it's true.
The bridesmaids' dresses were blue (yes, I know that's incredibly descriptive, but just imagine looking straight up on a bright summer day, and making it a little darker than that), all knee-length and shimmery. Shannon had dark blue/purple daisies, and the bridesmaids had white ones.
I can't wait to get my pictures back... maybe when I do, I'll scan some or something funky like that. Yah right, like I have a scanner, but hey, we can pretend, can't we? ;o)
But we had a great trip out. The car ride was a blast--I love road trips (which is a good thing, since I'll be spending six weeks on one this summer!)--and I got to see Lynsae, which is, of course, always a plus!
Anyways, I have a big stack of dishes that's calling my name, and a shower that's begging me to come visit it. Yay for being clean after eight hours in the car!
