... Growing up to be a child
Well, I'm not sure if it was stupid, brave, or just necessary, but with some rather strong encouragement from Becky, I took some action today.

And before you all get too excited.. no, it's not that kind of action. So sorry to disappoint. That'll come in time.

You know, there's a big difference between being childlike and childish; innocent and naive; silly and foolish; playful and immature. God help me if I ever blur those lines as much as they seem to be blurred right now.

Growing up may be overrated, but it's... well, growing up. It's the stuff that maturity is made of, and why would I want to sacrifice that character for a few more laughs along the way? There are plenty that come with a healthy balance and understanding of that fine line between childhood and adulthood. The balance of having fun and still being adult about it. Taking the moments to be silly, but recognizing that there's a time and a place. Being upset and taking it out on everyone around you.

I want to be a grownup who remembers what it means to be a kid. I want to be a child of God who is mature enough to live fully, in the best of childhood and adulthood at the same time. I want to live. Fully. However many age brackets that encompasses at one time.
