... Can I be allergic to you?
Is it possible to actually be physically allergic to another person? If it's not, can I please use that as an excuse? I'd believe it, especially if I saw someone suddenly begin to hyperventilate and feel sick to her stomach and have to leave the room, simply because she was in the presence of this person that causes an allergic reaction. Or whatever you want to call it. Even though said people were not paying any attention whatsoever to each other, there was no physical or verbal contact, and the person's mind was on something completely different from said allergy-causer.

Can we at least pretend it's a valid excuse, even if it's not? It makes a pretty good one. :o)

Or maybe it's not the person himself... maybe it's the lingering presence of pond scum that he just can't quite seem to shake that causes such a severe reaction. That's maybe more plausible, no? You know... some people are allergic to perfume, and can't be around someone who wears it, even if they're not wearing it at that particular moment. Maybe scum is just as allergy-causing, even if it's not completely present at that moment. You just can't shake it, once you've been in such prolonged contact with it. Or something like that.
