... Caramel and Mistletoe
Good grief; it's the 21st already... how time flies!

My parents have the cutest new puppy... makes me wish I could have pets here! See, Caramel (the dog we'd had since I was 8) got diabetes this summer, and eventually, they had to put her down, because she just wasn't getting any nutrients and was basically starving to death. So anyways, that happened almost 2 months ago now. They weren't planning to get another dog right away; they were planning to wait until spring and then get a puppy. But....

A few days later, some neighbors gave them a dog, Penny, a German shepherd/collie mix (I think that's what my dad said) who was a year and a half old and already trained. They fell in love with her right away, and so that was all fine and dandy, but then a couple of days ago, she got hit by a car and died.

The woman who hit Penny felt horrible about it (obviously), and came back to the house yesterday with a puppy, with a big Christmas bow around her neck. This dog (yet unnamed--my mom's shooting for Holly; my sister doesn't want it to be named a "person's name;" I think they should go for Mistletoe, or Missy for short) is the cutest thing... She's 8 weeks old, and already about the size of a full-grown shih-tzu (she's a St. Bernard-German Shepherd cross--she'll be one big dog when she grows up!); kind of caramel colored, with a darm brown, almost black muzzle, and huge, huge eyes.

So, yah, that's the new puppy... Because I have nothing else to talk about, and she was the Christmas present this year. :o)

I'm exhausted. I was up too early this morning, and we're supposed to go out with Ness tonight, so I'm going to try to catch a few minutes of sleep before we go... later. :o)
