... Where's my Geritol?
oh, we're getting old. Alison and I spent 3 hours tonight talking; reminiscing about high school, talking about college, complaining about how old we feel, talking about how innocent we used to be, how immature we used to be... We're pretty sad. But it was fun. :o) Definitely worth it all. It'd been too long since we talked. I hadn't even seen her since Christmas. I guess this is what happens when we all graduate, grow up, and move away. *sigh*

It's fun to reminisce about all our misadventures from junior high and high school, though! The grade 8 ski trip, being the "academic leadership class," being the dumb grade 9 girls that we were, Mrs. Paskevich's leadership classes, all the peer support, SLC, drama, ruling the school in grade 12. We really did, you know, and not just in the sense that all grade 12's "rule the school." We planned so much; we made so many of the student-made decisions that affected the whole school. There were about 6 of us who were on Peer Support and SLC (the non-cult and the cult), who were pretty academically minded, who were always doing different projects. We were saying that we're the kinds of kids that the teachers like to see back, and that the school stops when we come back for a visit. Teachers who hate any other interruptions will let us come in and talk, the principal will talk with us for a while, the news spreads around the school that whoever's around... it's kinda funny. Not being egotistical or anything. It's just a fact. But lest we get big heads, next year, no one will remember us. The kids who were in grade 10 when we were in grade 12 are going into grade 12 now, and by next year, no one will remember us, except for a few teachers. But for now, it's that group of us... Alison, Breanna, Matt, Amanda, Stephanie, Heather, and I. We were the ones on the honor roll, in the cult and the non-cult, the drama geeks, the science geeks, the tutors... how sad. But it was fun. It was a great year, and it was so much fun to have so much influence over the school as a whole! :o)

Anyways, back from that little tangent.... We had a great night, and a great time reminiscing, but we realized that we weren't really as mature as we thought sometimes... the things that were funny then just aren't as much now, and we have a completely different perspective on the world. Oh, the joys of growing up. :o)
