... We've got a lot to offer
My goodness... what a day. More painting, building, repairing and gluing this morning/afternoon, and then up to the church to clean out the costume closet from Our Town. I love that we keep accumulating pieces--that's what a good play does. We only bought between 1/3 to 1/2 of our costume pieces, so we don't have everything (the kids brought in some of their own stuff, and we borrowed a bunch from Laurel's theatre company), but it's still a lot more than we had. Includiong the wedding dress. I love that we have that in our stock now.

Anyways, now I'm home (and I brought a vacuum home from the church!) and I'm cleaning up a bit before my kids come over for a cast party tonight. Low-key--order pizza, rent movies. Should be fun.

And then, this weekend, it's off to Brooks, Claresholm, and Medicine Hat to take Everyman on the road. Oh yeah, baby. Should be just dandy. Actually, I'm excited. I think we'll do well, especially after the one-act festival. I think that we know we did well, so I hope that'll boost our confidence and enthusiasm a little bit. Enthusiasm more than confidence, I think. I hope. After this weekend, we only take it out once more--to the one-act festival in Edmonton--so even if we don't like it, the end is in sight.

Anyways... I'm going to go clean the bathroom a little bit and get my house a little bit more presentable. Yeah.

One year ago today: Sometimes I forget that life is real. We live in such a society where we detach ourselves from real life that when it comes to real life, we don't know what to believe and what not to. For instance, amusement parks. The thrill is all imaginary. You strap yourself into a ride that has been tested for safety standards over and over again, by someone trained to run it (okay, maybe that's a little bit of an overstatement--I did work at an amusement park for a summer!), with warnings against every condition you could possibly have that would make it unsafe, and it's timed so you're not on too long. And we feel like we're taking risks. What's the worst that's going to happen? In most cases, only that you'll get a bit motion sick and regurgitate your lunch.
