I woke up about 45 minutes ago to a chorus of male voices outside my bedroom door, chanting, "Bet it all! Bet it all! Bet it all!" A bunch of drama kids are over playing games and watching movies. It just made me laugh that I can't get them to project onstage for the life of me, but when I'm trying to sleep, they project plenty well. :o)
I slept through a lot, though... it comes from living with Shannon and falling asleep to punk music blaring in the living room. Yah. When I have kids, I'm going to have issues if I can sleep through those guys right outside my door. It was funny to listen to, though.
Anyways... They're watching A Knight's Tale right now. What a fun movie. I've seen it often enough that I can recite half of it by now.
I have nothing else to say. My head still hurts a little. It's a lot better than it was, and I'm glad I didn't have to drive for 2 hours with this headache, but I still wish we hadn't have had to cancel. If we hadn't though, we would have had to spend the night at the church, and I'm not sure I could handle that. It would have been fun when I was in high school, but to be the leader; the one with the responsibility for the whole group, and to do that so last-minute...
This play has been a good stretch for me--definitely as a director, and also just as a leader in general. There are certain things I'd never do again, but it was a good learning experience.
I'm excited for the second half--it'll be great for some of them to get to direct for a change, and a little less stressful for me, in some ways... it'll be nice to be doing some smaller projects, too; not just the big play. Something with smaller casts; with easier casts, and with a variety of different plots, tones... different plays. It'll be good.
