Fri, May 27
... All the things I put you through
I left for Europe a year ago today. My high school grad was five years ago today. May 27 seems to be a very significant date for me. Alas, this year, it wasn't that exciting.

I did, however, have a nice day at work, complete with excellent conversations with both Becky and Christine. It was a spring fever kind of day. Beautiful outside, slow afternoon inside, and we were all a little restless and itching to get out for something, anything.

I find it interesting that Christy is becoming such a confidante and that we can talk about such interesting topics. Never would have expected it before--not because she's a bad person; just because we haven't been that close--but since we've been working together, we get into some very interesting discussions. It's really quite cool, actually. I enjoy it a lot. And, to be honest, I'll miss her when we don't work together anymore.

Today, she was cornering Eric on the topic of porn, and watching him try to defend it was just the funniest thing I've ever seen. He was literally--physically--backed into a corner, and the look on his face was the most uncomfortable thing I've ever seen.

Aside from that, though, we have many good discussions about relationships, marriage, parents, siblings, family, coworkers, Rocky, church, people we knew in junior high and high school, growing up, getting jobs... things like that. It's fun. I quite enjoy it. There are people at work that I connect with on different levels, and in some places, she's at the same level I'm at.

I had something interesting and thought-provoking that I was going to say, but now I can't remember what it was. It was some sort of theory that I'm not sure yet whether I would subscribe to, but I can't remember what it was. Oh well... I'm sure that if it was important enough, it'll come back to me.

We have a washing machine! Can't use it quite yet, because something needs to be tightened, but we have it, and no longer have to beg, borrow, and steal other people's water. Right, Kim?

And guess what. I have Monday and Tuesday off again this week. I just wish I had more money than I do. If I wasn't so strapped for cash, I'd take off to Creston for the weekend again. Hmmm. Maybe I'll have to see if I can somehow swing it? I dunno... it would be wonderful, but I don't know if it'll work this time.

Anyways... speaking of Creston, I should phone the lovely Kat sometime soon. But first, I should go clean the bathroom and kitchen like a good roommate.

Ah, how I miss the cobblestone streets of the European cities, the white beaches of the Mediterranean, the theatre shows in London, the buildings and artwork that I'd only ever seen in pictures and movies before that... has it really been a year?

Yes, yes it has. My, how time flies.
