... I just love it when...
I was sitting in Mike's office, towards the end of my shift tonight, just talking. I heard my mom, who was at the church and had already had me do a few things for her, yelling my name out in the foyer, and I thought she had something else for me to do before she left. I started out to the security desk, commenting over my shoulder, "I just love it when my mom's doing something at the church when I'm working."

Just as I said that, she came in the door, holding an envelope with my GST rebate check in it, saying "You just love it, hey?"

"Yes! Especially when you bring me checks... and because sometimes when you're here and I work, I get food." I could hear Mike laughing from his office down the hall. Lame attempt at a cover-up, but it was funny, and she laughed anyways.

I forgot I had to work today when I got up this morning... Bleah. It's never fun to have to go to work when you thought you had your entire evening ahead of you with nothing to do but whatever you wanted. Oh well... a few extra hours and a few extra dollars always came in handy at some point or another. Besides, I have tomorrow evening free to do whatever I please, so I suppose it makes up for tonight. It was still rather disappointing, though.

That's okay, though. I got to work with Doug, which is always fun... he's a great guy to work with, and a hard worker, so with two of us busting our butts, we didn't have to work as long. Also, Mike was there, so I hung out in his office, regaling him with the verbal edition of the "Annals of the Bored Security Girl". Oh-kay. That sounded more pathetic than it really was. We talked. That's the slightly more normal way of putting it.

It wasn't a bad shift. And, like I said, I have tomorrow night to myself. :o)

Anyways, I'm sleepy. It's late, and I'm puttering around on ebay. Never a good sign at this time of night, now is it?
