Sitting in Kat's kitchen. I showed up at her door last night with no warning whatsoever, and voila! Here I am, for the next couple of days! Well, until tomorrow morning, anyways.
I phoned from the driveway and asked if she wanted company--the original plan was to just walk in the door, but I thought that might be a little questionable at 11 p.m. Less frightening in the day and everything. Anyways... I'm here, and we're just going to spend the day hanging out and spending time together!
This morning, when I got up, Jakes was in the living room, and I called his name, and the look on his face was priceless. He was so confused, and then so excited, like, "Wait a minute, Auntie's not supposed to be here. That can't actually be her. But wait! I think it really is!" And then he started laughing, and booted his way over to me. I love being recognized.
And did I mention that I'm not going home until I see an explosion on the eastern horizon? Then I'll know that everything that's going to happen has happened, and I can go home in relative safety.
